At a two-day event in Salford University on May 30-31, CI explored the relationship between healthcare development, economic growth and personal welfare, including insights from IBM and BT strategists and a leading GP.
The event heard from, among others, Loy Lobo, Director of Strategy and Innovation, BT Health as well as John Crawford, Healthcare Industry Leader for IBM Healthcare and Life Sciences. Dr Amir Hannan, a GP from the north west of England, offered fascinating insights into the possibilities that communication innovations offer to patient empowerment and well-being.
This important event crowned nearly two years of collaboration into how knowledge systems, predictive processes, and risk-management – all supported by modelling – can radically change personal pathways and the dynamics of delivery.
You can read an important discussion exploring some of these issues: ‘Can healthcare create new markets?’
At the May event, clinicians, industrial experts and academics focussed on our plans for a national centre with regional hubs in the collaborating universities.
