The Sustainable Transformation Plans have identified a range of innovative ways of building on what has been tried to deliver integrated services at new levels of effectiveness. The big challenge is that the NHS will have to be able to deliver reproducibly and at scale using a range of new approaches. Workforces will have to look different, as will the way in which information systems support new pathways through the system. The experience of the NHS and its staff in these areas is limited and marred by poor experiences over the past 50 years. This workshop will present and share ways to succeed that learn from past failures, build on recent success and enable new elements of service to be trialled and introduced with high degrees of confidence.
